Raised with values of practicality, combined with an early and extensive exposure to exotic landscapes of the world, and many international art collections, Heather developed a deep desire to reflect back her life experience in visual form. Her portfolio reflects a fusion of these influences, and her work has been shown in Winnipeg and southern Manitoba. She takes great inspiration as an artist and a teacher in the power to open others’ eyes to the visual beauty and utility of found objects in nature and the built environment. In recent years, she has lead teacher and student workshops, chiefly with mono-printing, which promote an ethos of using the 3R’s in artmaking. Heather has over twenty years of experience in teaching art to young people, and conducting workshops for artists of all ages.
